ALGEBRA SEMINAR
6th GRADE NUMERACY
Welcome to 6th grade Numeracy!!

I’m so glad you are taking this class with me. Numeracy is a class for students who are not yet at grade level in math. Instead of taking Physical Education everyday, you take it every other day. Students are identified by recommendations from previous teachers and standardized test scores. (You may have a good grade in math and still need help getting to grade level. So this class isn’t based on grades.)
We will work on three main areas of math. Fractions, decimal numbers, and whole numbers A solid footing in these topics will help you in almost everything you do in the future. Once you have passed an assessment in these three areas you can return to Physical Education everyday. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

I love hiking, skiing, writing short stories/books, singing off tune, and MATH! What do you love??
I have two daughters and live with them and my husband in the New North End. Tell me about your family!
I graduated with honors from UVM with a degree in math education in 1992. I have taken over 30 credit hours worth of graduation work in math education since!
